The Rwanda Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RSOG) is a professional organization that brings together specialists to advance quality maternal and reproductive health in Rwanda.
To support the effective implementation and coordination of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Training Program, RSOG seeks to recruit qualified Resident Program Site Coordinators for training sites at:
Gisenyi District Hospital
Ruhengeri L2TH
Kibagabaga L2TH
Nyamata L2TH
The Site Coordinator will oversee day-to-day residency activities, strengthen communication between residents, faculty, hospital leadership, and RSOG, and ensure that training aligns with approved academic and clinical guidelines.
Role Overview & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day implementation of residency training activities at assigned sites
Ensure residents follow approved rotation schedules, duty rosters, and training plans
Support integration of residency training with routine clinical services
Facilitate onboarding and orientation of new residents
Liaise with site-based faculty and mentors for structured teaching and supervision
Monitor availability of teaching spaces, learning materials, and clinical exposure
Support mentorship, simulation training, and skills development activities
Identify and escalate gaps affecting training quality
Serve as the focal point between residents, hospital leadership, RSOG, and academic partners
Facilitate site-level coordination and review meetings
Disseminate program updates and guidelines from RSOG
Track resident attendance, rotations, and mentorship activities
Compile and submit monthly or quarterly reports to RSOG
Document challenges, best practices, and lessons learned
Support data collection for monitoring and evaluation
Serve as a contact point for residents on site-related concerns
Support resolution of operational and administrative challenges
Escalate welfare, safety, or performance issues appropriately
Engage hospital management teams and local partners
Support integration of sexual and reproductive health services
Qualifications & Competencies
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery
Registered and licensed with the relevant professional regulatory body in Rwanda
Additional training in maternal, neonatal, or reproductive health is an advantage
Minimum of 5 years professional experience in nursing or midwifery
Experience in teaching hospitals or clinical training environments
Experience in coordination, supervision, mentorship, or training support
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Strong coordination and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and reporting skills
Familiarity with competency-based medical education is an asset
Proficiency in English
Kinyarwanda and/or French is an advantage
Not currently working in a public hospital
